How late can I leave my alterations?
Ideally six weeks, but late gowns get taken on regularly. The limit is the work itself — a simple hem can be done in days, while re-cutting a beaded bodice cannot be rushed safely. Ring the shop with your date and you will get a straight yes or no rather than a maybe.
